- "93% of my friends won't repost this."
- "Repost if you agree!"
- "Repost to help support..."
These posts are then re-posted as requested (obey sheep!), creating a viral post which contains a link to a FB page, which contains a link to a website with ads. People click these ads, and poof, income appears. Sounds complicated, but it works. It's a numbers game. Get a million reposts to get 100,000 page views to get 10,000 website views to get 1000 ad clicks. This is a multi-million dollar industry, which pays 20 something hipsters good money to create these posts. I'm willing to bet you've seen some of them show up on your news feed several times.
I don't have a problem with this business model. It's a hard world, and most any business out there creating jobs in the US is a good thing. But what I don't approve of is when these businesses make FB users feel like they are supporting something like equal rights, the fight against cancer etc.
Anywho, I thought I'd get in on the action. Repost if you agree! if we reach 100,000 page views, this chicken will stop crying!
